La web Indiewire ha convocado a 177 críticos para que elijan lo mejor que nos ha dado el cine en este 2024. Los resultados de la encuesta han sido acordes a lo que estamos viendo en la temporada de premios: 'Anora' lidera Mejor Película y Mejor Guion, 'The Brutalist' es la primera en Mejor Dirección y Marianne Jean-Baptiste encabeza la lista de interpretaciones con su volcánico trabajo en 'Mi única familia'. En Mejor Película Internacional, la española 'Cerrar los ojos' alcanza el sexto puesto, situándose por delante de varias aspirantes al Oscar.
