Manteniendo la tradición iniciada el año pasado, os vamos a invitar a que saquéis los gurús de los Oscar que tenéis dentro de vosotros. En esta encuesta podéis realizar vuestras apuestas en las ocho categorías principales de los Oscar: Película, Dirección, las cuatro interpretativas y los guiones. Los resultados se publicarán la próxima semana y, una vez que pasen los Oscar, realizaremos una comparación para ver cómo os ha ido y, sobre todo, si hay alguien que haya logrado acertar las ocho categorías. El año pasado vuestros votos coincidieron con los Oscar en siete apartados y hubo cuatro seguidores que lograron hacer pleno.

La Academia acaba de publicar los listados de títulos elegibles en las categorías de Mejor Película de Animación, Mejor Película Documental y Mejor Película Internacional. En el apartado dedicado a las cintas de habla no inglesa se dan cita 86, una más que en la edición anterior. Por el Oscar al mejor documental compiten 201 películas mientras que en la categoría de animación se han registrado 35 entradas. Las listas de documentales y películas internacionales quedarán reducidas a 15 títulos el próximo 16 de diciembre.

Críticas de 'Wicked: Parte II': Más divisiva que la primera

El embargo de las críticas de 'Wicked: Parte II' se ha levantado hoy, solamente tres días antes del estreno mundial de la película. La primera entrega fue uno de los títulos revelación de la pasada temporada. Su enorme éxito en la taquilla (fue la quinta película que más recaudó en todo el mundo durante 2024) vino acompañado de unas críticas muy positivas y de diez nominaciones al Oscar. 'Wicked: Parte II' seguro que volverá a funcionar estupendamente entre el público, pero la crítica esta vez no ha sido tan generosa. Si 'Wicked' registró un 88% en Rotten Tomatoes y un 73 en Metacritic, la secuela se ha quedado de momento en un 72% en RT y un 61 en MC.

Aunque algunos críticos señalan que es superior a la primera entrega (gracias, principalmente, a un final que promete emociones fuertes), también hay varios que la tachan de decepcionante. Ninguno de los problemas que pueda tener la película afecta a las interpretaciones de Cynthia Erivo y Ariana Grande, que han vuelto a ser muy destacadas por parte de la prensa. No se puede descartar la posibilidad de que vuelvan a competir por el Oscar y, de hecho, Grande es para muchos la rival a batir en Mejor Actriz Secundaria. En su contra tiene que sería un caso insólito en los Oscar (nadie ha ganado una estatuilla por el mismo papel por el que perdió el año anterior), que la película no ha gustado tanto como la primera parte y que, además, su papel es todavía mayor en esta entrega, así que se hace aún más difícil hacer pasar su personaje como secundario.
