"The act of killing" puede poco a poco convertirse en la gran favorita para ganar el Oscar al mejor documental. Una semana después de ser nominada a los IDA y a los Gotham Awards, el documental danés de Joshua Oppenheimer y Christine Cynn ha obtenido cinco nominaciones a los Cinema Eye, incluyendo mejor película, director, montaje diseño de producción y premio del público. En la categoría reina también aparece "Stories we tell", el documental dirigido por Sarah Polley que también obtuvo la candidatura en los premios de la International Documentary Association. Ambos documentales, junto a "20 feet from stardom", "Blackfish" y "Tim's Vermeer", se confirman como los claros favoritos para ganar el Oscar. Mientras, los ganadores de los Cinema Eye se conocerán el próximo mes de enero.
