#Maestro will be Netflix’s big Oscar contender this year. Expect it to rake in the nominations for Bradley Cooper (as director, actor, producer and screenplay) and Carey Mulligan, who delivers one of the best — and most soulful — performances of her career. #Venezia80

MAESTRO has its virtues. Some evocative images that hint at the colossal tensions beneath a compromised marriage. But it’s too sketchy, too timid and too burdened by Cooper’s unnecessary impersonation. Will just about do. #Venezia80 pic.twitter.com/afcwI3P6Qg

Bradley Cooper again demonstrates an assured directorial hand in MAESTRO, starring alongside Carey Mulligan in a forensic study of Leonard Bernstein’s unconventional marriage in which the bold risks pay off big time. My @THR review of the #Venezia80 entryhttps://t.co/0yvLdFjko2

Bradley Cooper funnels himself into the project at every creative level with #Maestro — but this handsomely made Oscar-tailored package actually belongs to another person entirely, and that would be Carey Mulligan. Read our #Venice review: https://t.co/wE96suqhUT pic.twitter.com/GxNSi28gjq

MAESTRO shows Bradley Cooper’s improving skills as a director. The imagery he creates is stunning, which also captures great performances from him and Mulligan. Fantastic chemistry. There’s so much energy that soon dissipates, leaving the narrative awkwardly assembled at the end. pic.twitter.com/851g44uNDe

Bradley Cooper has proven himself a confident director and takes some risks with Maestro that really pay off. And he somehow juggles giving an incredible performance as well. VF’s review: https://t.co/bU2oS1YQfv

Bradley Cooper’s Maestro is sublime. His confidence and maturity as a filmmaker have grown significantly since ASIB. He has a tender, delicate and passionate touch both in front of and behind the camera. He and Mulligan have spellbinding chemistry together.
